Our history as a leading Corporate Performance Management (CPM) and Business Process Management (BPM) company positions us very well for Active Intelligence, the new era in Business Intelligence.

We are working actively with our customers to migrate their data to cloud at scale. Our No-code data replication capability makes it very easy to migrate data from your on-premise to cloud, multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud deployments. Rebrand

With a paradigm shift in our ability to deliver value from data to our customers, we also change our brand to reflect our more modern performance driven Active Intelligence solutions. We love continuous improvement and change as an organization and felt this a good time to modernise, contextualize and articulate our value message more clearly. We had a vote and 100% of our team selected our new logo and slogan.

MM 2020 Close and Our 2021 Plans

2020

Here we are again at the end of the year but what an extraordinary year it has been. Every company’s supply chain has been hit hard with the lockdown restrictions, staff risks, customer conditions, liquidity, revenue, and overall economic decline. Some companies have been able to respond very well and thrive through 2020 and other are still reeling from the and trying to ensure their futures planning for 2021 and what possibilities that may bring.

If nothing else this year has proven that personal relationships between people is what got us up every morning, but data is what truly guided our decisions this year.

We have seen a massive uptake in BI and data usage right from the get-go when Covid-19 hit, and the lockdown started. Our statistics across customers reveal a 50% – 600% increase in usage that kicked off already in April 2020. This is phenomenal and the real question is why it took a pandemic with subsequent lockdowns to drive data-based decision making and operational improvements actively within every part of the business.

MM has been very fortunate to have been able to continue our business. We are fortunate that we have been able to assist some customers with payment holidays and other methods to support their own liquidity as well as ours. During this period, we have been very busy taking advantage of a “less busy” schedule for daily customer deliverables where we were able to allocate some time to realign our business to our new ways of working. Our new delivery model ensures we support our customers throughout their maturity growth.

We execute our New Ways Of Work (NWOW) on 11 January 2021.

Data Literacy

We have realigned our practices to support our customer maturity levels which we are now able to monitor and manage as part of our data literacy methodology and services.

Data Management Consulting Services

We have expanded our DMM consulting capabilities across all areas of the data business with detailed assessments, advisory, planning and execution services across the board where we manage your data maturity across various categories such as Data Strategy, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Operations, Data Platform & Architecture and Supporting Processes. We are very excited to launch our new services during February 2021. Please contact us now to book some discussions.

Active Intelligence

We have demo’ed our first version of our active intelligence solution to one of our largest customers and it was very well received. This truly is the future of BI which is process optimization through analysis and automation based on your ever changing data. We will actively start marketing our solution in February but should you be interested to see our demo please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are ready to implement successfully!

BBBEE

BBBEE has and will continue to be a major drive and investment for MM. 

We have great plans which we will announce either before the end of the year or in February that will greatly affect the benefits for all our customers. We ourselves are extremely excited about the prospects.

We thank all our partners for all their support during these challenging times. It has been a great experience to see companies are at the end people and people will support where able and possible. We thank our reseller and vendor partners for their great continued support and investments in these trying times. We look forward to building a great blend of solutions with you during 2021.

Last but certainly not least we thank all our customers that have provided us with the opportunity to make them successful with their BI strategies. We thank all the people we work with on a daily basis. We build relationships and we support on a personal level where possible through a drive to improve our mutual prospects where all stakeholders benefit and this is truly a win/win relationship. We appreciate you and we thank you sincerely for your continued support.

The Team & The Pregnancy

It was really great to have the whole team at the office again for a change. As a consulting company we seldom get the opportunity to spend some quality time together as a team so we arrange a morning session every month to get together, have a monthly update session and on the occasion celebrate something special as we had the opportunity to do this month.

The Team

We have a great team of varied levels from learners, juniors, intermediates and seniors.We have our business intelligence analyst teams and data science teams.

We arranged for our learners to come visit us at the office for the first time this month. They are currently going through their training program at Velisa Africa and will join us in December for a six month practical experience work placement.

We are fortunate that the group learners that will join our team this December consist of 5 data scientist candidates and two BIA candidates.

Our pregnant one

We took the opportunity to wish UK well on her maternity leave which is about to start soon. It was great that the whole team contributed to some gifts for the little one that will soon join our family.

Modernising Management (Pty) Ltd today launched Analytics2Insights which is a cloud based platform that provides prebuilt analytical solutions that automatically integrates to your cloud based solutions.

Wow what an amazing event for MM, so many highlights!

Lets start with the end and inform those who have not been following us on Twitter (@Modernising) that MM won a Qlik Customer Innovation Award for the innovative work we did together with our Standard Bank team on their Social Media Sentiment Analysis application. I would like to add it is an absolute pleasure to work with a highly effective Qlik Team and this was genuinely a collaborative effort from both customer and MM.

Qlik Social Media Solution

The Standard Bank Of South Africa IT and Marketing teams utilize QlikView and Qlik Web connectors to retrieve and analyze keywords, customers and employees social media engagements including sentiment analysis on various bank products and services. The bank benchmarks themselves against other banks through connecting to Twitter, Facebook, Klout and a sentiment engine to track feeds from people, followers, #hashtags, mentions, favourited and more. The true value of the solution is not only in the Qlik automated solution, but in the analysis and improvements the bank makes through better social engagement with their employees and customers.

Awards bode well as reward and target!

I congratulate the MM team, who are not only highly effective, but living on the innovation cusp of all that Qlik technology affords us!

We had so many of our existing customers, especially our banking customers joining us at the event and allowing us to show them some of the other innovative things we do with Qlik. Thank you for taking the time, the great discussions and the follow ups!

Technology:

We also have the opportunity to promote some of our partner’s technology (NarrativeScience, ebiexperts, and Squirro) and we thank them all for supporting us before and during the event. There was some really good interest in all the technology and we look forward to the follow-ups. The age of data sciences and advanced analytics combined with contextual intelligence is going to be super exiting for us as a company!

Worth a mention: Highlight

We were very honored with the visit from James Fisher @JamesaFisher, VP, Global Product Marketing, Qlik who not only stopped by to hear about us and our technologies and solutions but also tweeted about our good demo’s at the stand. Thanks James and it was really great to meet  who I consider to be the Qlik Futurist 🙂
